Since retirement in 2020, I enjoy cycling several days a week in the local area, including one day as a volunteer leader for British Cycling, for a group called Breeze. (ladies only)
I somehow seem to clock up over 4,000 miles each year! More.....
I am fortunate to be surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Hampshire with an endless choice of coffee shops. (I have lost no weight).
As a result of my cycling hobby, recent photography is done with a small camera in my bum bag, stopping briefly on my rides to capture the seasonal changes. I use those photos to write a blog of my trips. (over 1,000 to date) Let's get cycling Blog .
My blogs which include my route, are primarily for me as a aid memoire, of where I went, who I was with, what the weather was like etc. ALso useful to look back on in the depth of winter, to cheer me up!
I share my blogs with the people who joined me on the rides, but plenty of others also read them, indeed they look forward to them. I am very happy to share my route details, hoping that others will benefit from them.
And when it's too cold or wet to cycle, I get my paints out, or catch up on my film editing.
Each year I produce an AV film incorporating some of the many photos taken over the year, by myself and a few from other leaders.
This year, I wrote a poem, and used AI to tweak it into a song, with my suggested genre and instruments. It's been very well received! What can I do different next year?!!
