I rarely photograph "the bigger picture", instead prefering to get up close, which often includes using a macro lens. I find it fascinating to notice details of the plant structure, and also tiny insects, which often cannot be seen by the naked eye. Like all photography, I only photograph when the light is interesting. Or after a rainshower, or in frosty conditions.

I love putting together these little "postcards" of my garden. Foliage and flowers fill the garden with colour for many months, but the dying flowerheads are also fascinating, especially if we get a heavy frost or evensnowflakes. Click on the photo below then use the arrows to view.
